E.K. Blair is a new-to-me author. I want to first mention for those that may not know, Crave: Part One is a story about high schoolers. When the story begins, Ady and Kason are both juniors and 17. I wasn't aware of that when I started the book.
I am giving Crave: Part One a 3.5 star review. I really liked E.K. Blair's writing style and her POV switch between Kason and Ady. I also liked where the story was headed except that I maybe could have used Kason and Ady being college students versus high schoolers. Now, that is probably just because I have three highschoolers. Without trying to give to much away, Kason has an addiction. After awhile, Ady becomes understanding of Kason's addiction, but instead of trying to get him to seek professional help she tends to enable him. As a result she is physically in pain, but seems to accept that. I felt their relationship bordered on abusive in some ways. However, the twist at the end did leave me very curious as to what is going to happen next.
I think it is always important to remember when reading a review, that this is one person's opinion. In order to form your own opinion, you have to read the book yourself. You may see it completely different than I do. I respect every author for putting their stories out there. There is a lot of time, effort, and heart put into every piece of work. Remember, each one of us is unique and that is what makes life fun!
