About Me:

I am a wife, mom of 3 teenagers, and I love to read. I do not limit myself to one genre, but do have some that I prefer. Depending on my mood I will choose a book from RomCom, Romance, Dark Romance, Suspense/Thriller, YA, NA, and SciFi/Fantasy. I would love to share the books I read with you so that you may enjoy them too!

It takes so much courage for an author to put their work out there for the public to read. Then to subject themselves to the opinions of those readers. You will not find disrespectful reviews on this page. Even if a book is not for me, it may be something someone else enjoys. I will not belittle or be nasty to any author, regardless of subject matter. No bashing of person or writing will be tolerated.

My goal by creating this blog is to help authors get their books noticed and to help introduce readers to authors they may not usually read.

Also, please note that any links contained on this website I DO NOT profit from. I do receive advanced reader copies of some of the books I review, but I promise to never let that sway my true feelings on the piece of work.

I am willing to help out as many authors/PAs/promotion companies as I can, but please know that my calendar doesn't always allow for a certain time frame. Please feel free to contact me and I can see if I am able to help. This is a one woman show ;) You can visit my Facebook Page (Like/Follow) at https://www.facebook.com/Reading-Escape-Reviews-279044492594921/ and my email is readingescapereviews@gmail.com

Thank you for stopping by! Oh, and be sure to get on the 2017 Goodreads Reading Challenge. I will be asking periodically for your actual and goal number!

I Do(n't) by Leddy Harper

Title: I Do(n't)
Author: Leddy Harper
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: August 11, 2017

Blurb

I fell in love with Holden York when I was six years old.

Most of my youth came with spiral notebooks filled with doodles, wedding plans, and “Janelle York” looped in bubbly handwriting.

However, one night in Vegas changed everything.

I woke up to more than just a fantasy of my brother’s best friend.

Five years later, I'm standing on his doorstep confronting him about the secret he kept from me.

If you think this is the story of how we rode off into the sunset together…
You’re so wrong.

But if you think this is the story of how Holden blackmailed me into living with him...
You couldn't be more right.

        My Review of I Do(n't):

We begin the story with Janelle attending her brother's wedding in Las Vegas. Chapter one begins with Janelle being a part of a reality television show where the contestants have to try to pick their soul mate out of 10 members of the opposite sex. If they chose correctly they will win $10,000. However, there is a catch. One that Janelle would have never expected. That twist leads Janelle back home to her brother's best friend Holden. Holden holds the answers to Janelle's past, one that she can't remember. Along the way Janelle learns the hardships her family has faced during her time away at college. She rebuilds relationships she thought were gone for good, and fixes ones she didn't even know were broken.

I loved I Do(n't) so I am giving it 4.5 stars! I loved the huge plot twist right at the beginning, and then the drama here and there throughout. Those are the details that keep me wanting more from a story. I thought the ending was perfect and I loved Janelle's mom, she was a fantastic addition to the supporting character bunch. While I though that Janelle may have been a bit snide and ungrateful, I think over the course of the book she had a great reality check. I really liked Holden and could feel his sincerity. The one-upping between the two became quite comical at times. This was the first book I had read by Leddy Harper, and I look forward to her other pieces of work.

Author Bio

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.

She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.

The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.
