About Me:

I am a wife, mom of 3 teenagers, and I love to read. I do not limit myself to one genre, but do have some that I prefer. Depending on my mood I will choose a book from RomCom, Romance, Dark Romance, Suspense/Thriller, YA, NA, and SciFi/Fantasy. I would love to share the books I read with you so that you may enjoy them too!

It takes so much courage for an author to put their work out there for the public to read. Then to subject themselves to the opinions of those readers. You will not find disrespectful reviews on this page. Even if a book is not for me, it may be something someone else enjoys. I will not belittle or be nasty to any author, regardless of subject matter. No bashing of person or writing will be tolerated.

My goal by creating this blog is to help authors get their books noticed and to help introduce readers to authors they may not usually read.

Also, please note that any links contained on this website I DO NOT profit from. I do receive advanced reader copies of some of the books I review, but I promise to never let that sway my true feelings on the piece of work.

I am willing to help out as many authors/PAs/promotion companies as I can, but please know that my calendar doesn't always allow for a certain time frame. Please feel free to contact me and I can see if I am able to help. This is a one woman show ;) You can visit my Facebook Page (Like/Follow) at https://www.facebook.com/Reading-Escape-Reviews-279044492594921/ and my email is readingescapereviews@gmail.com

Thank you for stopping by! Oh, and be sure to get on the 2017 Goodreads Reading Challenge. I will be asking periodically for your actual and goal number!

What About Her by Emma Tharp

What About Her (The Bluff Harbor Series Book 1) by [Tharp, Emma]

Title:  What About Her
Series:  The Bluff Harbor Series, book 1
Author:  Emma Tharp
Genre:  New Adult, Contemporary Romance
Published:  March 3, 2017

Six months ago, Kate Bergman's best friend left their dorm room and never came back...
Now, Kate can't shake the feeling that Willow, her dearest childhood friend, is still out there, still alive, and still needs her. But nobody is on her side--not even River McEwan, Willow's boyfriend. After all, the three of them used to be inseparable.
When a professor forces Kate and River to work together on a joint research project, a new challenge surfaces. Suddenly, their renewed friendship flares into something more.
Soon, River is enticing Kate to do things she’s never dreamed of. But while she can’t imagine walking away from River, Kate can't stop thinking about Willow. How can she give herself to him when he belongs to her best friend?

----------------------
What About Her is the first book in a two book series and ends in a cliffhanger. What About Us will be out on August 1, 2017!
This book is intended for a mature audience. 18+

Kate's friend Willow has been missing for 6 months.  No clues, no suspects, no nothing.  Kate can't believe her friend would just disappear without someone or something being involved.  Everyone is ready for closure and ready to move on with their lives.

Kate has always had a crush on River, but he was dating Willow and she couldn't betray her friend.  Now that everyone is moving on, will Kate move on with River?  Or, will she hold true to her friendship with Willow and just remain friends with RIver.  Will the clue Kate finds lead her to answers about Willow's disappearance?

I am giving What About Her 4 stars.  I really liked it, the only thing I was hoping for was a bigger twist.  I just didn't get that with this book.  It is a great story and the characters are easy to relate to.  I'm hoping that in What About Us, I get the answers I am looking for!

Emma Tharp
Emma was raised in upstate NY. Being an only child, she spent a great deal of time alone dreaming up characters that would keep her company on long family road trips. Putting her writing on the back burner, she went to college and became a chiropractor. After spending 14 years healing patients, Emma decided—with the help of her amazingly supportive husband—to use the creative side of her brain and let her characters come to the page.

If she’s not writing, Emma can be found at the gym, one of her kids sporting events, Starbucks, or at a live music event.

A perfect day for Emma would be spent at her lake house with her husband, two ginger-haired children, and Vizsla, reading a book and drinking a large cup of coffee (or wine) with music playing in the background.
