About Me:

I am a wife, mom of 3 teenagers, and I love to read. I do not limit myself to one genre, but do have some that I prefer. Depending on my mood I will choose a book from RomCom, Romance, Dark Romance, Suspense/Thriller, YA, NA, and SciFi/Fantasy. I would love to share the books I read with you so that you may enjoy them too!

It takes so much courage for an author to put their work out there for the public to read. Then to subject themselves to the opinions of those readers. You will not find disrespectful reviews on this page. Even if a book is not for me, it may be something someone else enjoys. I will not belittle or be nasty to any author, regardless of subject matter. No bashing of person or writing will be tolerated.

My goal by creating this blog is to help authors get their books noticed and to help introduce readers to authors they may not usually read.

Also, please note that any links contained on this website I DO NOT profit from. I do receive advanced reader copies of some of the books I review, but I promise to never let that sway my true feelings on the piece of work.

I am willing to help out as many authors/PAs/promotion companies as I can, but please know that my calendar doesn't always allow for a certain time frame. Please feel free to contact me and I can see if I am able to help. This is a one woman show ;) You can visit my Facebook Page (Like/Follow) at https://www.facebook.com/Reading-Escape-Reviews-279044492594921/ and my email is readingescapereviews@gmail.com

Thank you for stopping by! Oh, and be sure to get on the 2017 Goodreads Reading Challenge. I will be asking periodically for your actual and goal number!

When Stars Collide (Book 2 Light in the Dark) by Micalea Smeltzer

When Stars Collide (Light in the Dark Book 2) by [Smeltzer, Micalea]

(taken from Amazon)

We were like two stars orbiting each other—dancing around the possibility that one day we might collide. When we finally did, we opened up a black hole, obliterating everything around us. No one would be the same.
Least of all, us.

Waking up in Vegas married to the guy of your dreams sounds like a good thing, right? Not when you’re Thea Montgomery and said guy is your brother’s best friend.

Thea and Xander have always avoided the connection between them because her brother would never approve. Now, they’re married— the strongest bond you can have as a couple—and they’re not even a real couple…unless they want to be.

Thea wants an annulment immediately, but Xander’s waited too long to see her become his and he won’t let her go easily.

If she wants a divorce, fine, but he wants the summer to convince her that he’s the one. If at the end of the summer she still wants to end their marriage he’ll sign the papers, but until then…

All is not fair in love and war.

My Review:

I must first mention that I read all of the books in the Light in the Dark series in order and one after another.  Yes, they were that great.

In Rae of Sunshine (Book 1) we were introduced to Rae's roommate and Cade's sister Thea.  Also, Cade's best friend Xander.  Thea has always had a crush on Xander, but she never imagined him feeling the same about her.  Xander knew he wanted Thea, but could he betray Cade?  What happens during a work trip in Vegas?  Thea ends up married to Xander!

Thea is a nut, I have loved her since book 1.  Xander grounds her and is more than happy to tackle her crazy.  Micalea does a great job at making you feel their feelings.  Thea is truly terrified to be married, and to Xander at that.  I think there are just the right amount of Thea antics to make you want more of her.  I liked the plot twist a lot, and I think it was put in at a perfect time.  I didn't feel that it was to over the top or lacking in any way.  This book is a sweet love, a bit angsty, and definitely throws in a twist here and there.  I loved it enough to move straight into Dark Hearts.
