“I thought I knew who I was, but I was wrong.”
The Silver Swan
1. A girl who is tarnished. Tainted. One who does not fit into the confinement of legend.
The Silver Swan
2. Madison Montgomery.
I was lied to.
I was cheated.
Resigning to pick up the scraps of empty memories and disarrayed thoughts, I left. After finally cutting the strings of manipulation, I resorted to do what I’ve done since I was a child, something my father drilled into my brain since I could handle my first rifle.
Run.
I’m a mere shadow of the girl they all knew.
Lies and deceit change you. They alter your entire outlook on life.
I’m Madison Montgomery, and I want to play a game.
Here’s what happens when I win.
Riddle me this, Mads.
What goes bump in the night,
but is something you can’t see with sight?
You may run, and you may hide.
Our happily ever after will be like Bonnie & Clyde.
My Review of The Broken Puppet:
My Review of The Broken Puppet:
Madison and Tatum are on the run from Bishop and the Elite Kings. However, Madison soon learns that she will always be found, there is no where she can hide that Bishop cannot find her.
As Madison learns more about the history of the Elite Kings, the more questions she has. The biggest problem she has, is that no one will tell her the whole truth. They repeatedly ask her what she knows as to not give away to much information.
I am giving The Broken Puppet 4 stars. I really liked the storyline and most of the characters. Let's face it, some characters are created for us not to love! There were only two things preventing me from LOVING this book. The first was how often we were given what song/artist was playing. I love a great playlist the author used while writing. Music tells a story as much as a book, so I can appreciate that. However, I didn't really care for the "song/artist came on" throughout the story. That is only my preference and some people may enjoy following the playlist while reading the book. It just distracted me from the story. Also, I found myself getting irritated with Madison. She has all of these questions about the Kings, and numerous times is she referred to the book for answers. Instead she's busy partying or making sandwiches instead of reading the book. Only to claim that she doesn't have time to read the book. Come on girl, help yourself a little here! I'm excited to see what the author has in store next!
