About Me:

I am a wife, mom of 3 teenagers, and I love to read. I do not limit myself to one genre, but do have some that I prefer. Depending on my mood I will choose a book from RomCom, Romance, Dark Romance, Suspense/Thriller, YA, NA, and SciFi/Fantasy. I would love to share the books I read with you so that you may enjoy them too!

It takes so much courage for an author to put their work out there for the public to read. Then to subject themselves to the opinions of those readers. You will not find disrespectful reviews on this page. Even if a book is not for me, it may be something someone else enjoys. I will not belittle or be nasty to any author, regardless of subject matter. No bashing of person or writing will be tolerated.

My goal by creating this blog is to help authors get their books noticed and to help introduce readers to authors they may not usually read.

Also, please note that any links contained on this website I DO NOT profit from. I do receive advanced reader copies of some of the books I review, but I promise to never let that sway my true feelings on the piece of work.

I am willing to help out as many authors/PAs/promotion companies as I can, but please know that my calendar doesn't always allow for a certain time frame. Please feel free to contact me and I can see if I am able to help. This is a one woman show ;) You can visit my Facebook Page (Like/Follow) at https://www.facebook.com/Reading-Escape-Reviews-279044492594921/ and my email is readingescapereviews@gmail.com

Thank you for stopping by! Oh, and be sure to get on the 2017 Goodreads Reading Challenge. I will be asking periodically for your actual and goal number!

About Ten Year Dance:

Best friends since sixth grade. A ten-year high school reunion. A truth they’ve danced around for a decade. Unlucky-in-love Sophie Perez knows her divorce won’t be easy—but she doesn’t expect it to be dangerous. So when things get ugly, she agrees to move in with Pete Nicos, her commitment-phobic best friend since childhood. Pete has always been there for Sophie, just like she’s been there for him. At first, taking her in seems like the best option, but soon her tantalizing proximity blurs the lines of friendship. With their high school reunion on the horizon will they find closure, forgiveness, and new beginnings? Ten Year Dance is a contemporary love story, rich with engaging and relatable characters trying to find themselves and each other. Ara Grigorian’s latest will stay with you long after you turn the final page.

CLAIRE RESTED HER hand on my arm. "Are you thinking of going to the dance thing?" she asked.
I ignored her searing touch and found the will to speak. "What dance thing?"
"The Winter Formal."
My throat tightened as I tried to find the right words. I picked the ones that I thought she wanted to hear. "I dunno," I said, because that was being cool—aloof. She wore Nirvana t-shirts on free dress days, so I had to be cool like her. And cool guys didn't go to dances, even though I loved to dance. This had to be a test. I prayed the words that were dribbling out of my mouth were the right ones. "Seems lame, don't you think?"
She nodded. "Yeah, exactly. I don't know why everyone's making such a big stink of it."
I had done well. I had passed her coolness test.

* * *

A few hours later, I was positive I had miserably failed her test.
"Why are you so quiet?" Sophie asked.
We were on the swings in my backyard. Her parents had come over for dinner and shortly after finishing, we were asked to go to the yard.
"Oh, I don't know," I said.
"Let me take a wild guess: Claire. Again."
I nodded. I had thought long and hard about the meaning of Claire's question earlier. Had I misread her? Had she been opening the door, waiting for me to ask?
"You're a girl—" I started.
"Thanks for noticing."
"What I mean is, you probably understand girl stuff."
"The hole you're digging is getting deeper. You better spit out whatever it is you're fumbling through before I smack you."
"I think Claire may like me, but I don't know for sure, so I don't know what to do," I said.
"You need to be a bit more aggressive," Sophie said.
"What do you mean? Like grab her?"
"No dweeb, ask her if she wants to go to the mall, the movies, or something."
I frowned. That was not my style.
Sophie's eyes widened. "Oh, I know! The Winter Formal. Ask her to go with you."
"Ugh." I dropped my head.
"What?"
I told her. Sophie's reaction was immediate. "You asswipe! You better ask her first thing tomorrow."
"It's not that easy."
"It is that easy. She wouldn't have brought it up if she wasn't interested. Don't wait too long. Someone else will ask her."
"You think?"
"I know." She leaned in. "Don't create an opening for Robby. I want him to ask me, not her."
"He'd be stupid not to. You two are like the sporto twins."
She dropped her hand on my shoulder. "I've learned guys are generally stupid."
"You mean the other guys," I said. "Right?"
She smirked. "I mean guys."

About the Author:

Armenian by heritage, born in Iran, lived in Barcelona, and escaped New York until he found his home in Los Angeles, Ara’s first eleven years were both busy and confusing. The fruit salad of languages would slow down his genetically encoded need to tell stories. Until then, an alter ego would be required…   He received an engineering degree from California State University Northridge and earned his MBA from the University of Southern California. Today, he is a technology executive in the entertainment industry. True to the Hollywood life, Ara wrote for a children’s television pilot that could have made him rich (but didn’t) and nearly sold a video game to a major publisher (who closed shop days later).   But something was amiss until his wife read him the riot act. “Will you stop talking about wanting to be a writer and just do it?” So with her support (and mandate), and their two boys serving as his muse, he wrote stories.   Fascinated by the human species, Ara writes about choices, relationships, and second chances. Always a sucker for a hopeful ending, he writes contemporary romance stories. He is an alumnus of both the Santa Barbara Writers Conference and Southern California Writers’ Conference (where he also serves as a workshop leader). Ara is an active member of the Romance Writers of America and its Los Angeles chapter.   Ara is represented by Stacey Donaghy.
