About Me:

I am a wife, mom of 3 teenagers, and I love to read. I do not limit myself to one genre, but do have some that I prefer. Depending on my mood I will choose a book from RomCom, Romance, Dark Romance, Suspense/Thriller, YA, NA, and SciFi/Fantasy. I would love to share the books I read with you so that you may enjoy them too!

It takes so much courage for an author to put their work out there for the public to read. Then to subject themselves to the opinions of those readers. You will not find disrespectful reviews on this page. Even if a book is not for me, it may be something someone else enjoys. I will not belittle or be nasty to any author, regardless of subject matter. No bashing of person or writing will be tolerated.

My goal by creating this blog is to help authors get their books noticed and to help introduce readers to authors they may not usually read.

Also, please note that any links contained on this website I DO NOT profit from. I do receive advanced reader copies of some of the books I review, but I promise to never let that sway my true feelings on the piece of work.

I am willing to help out as many authors/PAs/promotion companies as I can, but please know that my calendar doesn't always allow for a certain time frame. Please feel free to contact me and I can see if I am able to help. This is a one woman show ;) You can visit my Facebook Page (Like/Follow) at https://www.facebook.com/Reading-Escape-Reviews-279044492594921/ and my email is readingescapereviews@gmail.com

Thank you for stopping by! Oh, and be sure to get on the 2017 Goodreads Reading Challenge. I will be asking periodically for your actual and goal number!

Champagne & Forever by Andrea Johnston

About Champagne & Forever

You’re cordially invited to the wedding of Bentley Sullivan and Piper Lawrence. Sometimes the princess really does marry her prince.
Twenty years ago, I fell in love with my best friend’s brother. It doesn’t matter that I was only five years old, he was it for me. Ben says a single kiss changed it all and I suppose he’s right.
I’m looking forward to raising my glass of champagne and toasting our forever.
Happily ever after does exist.
Champagne & Forever is part of the Country Road series and may contain spoilers of books 1-3 of the series

Excerpt

“Babe, do you know where my anti-frizz serum is?” “Piper, why would I know where that is? I don’t use hair products.” “Ben.” She sighs. It’s a sweet sigh with a smile as she approaches me. Once her hands wrap around my waist, I mimic her move, tug her to me, and lower my lips to hers. After a few dozen kisses that leave her panting, I pull away and allow her to continue speaking. Instead, Piper stands before me, her eyes closed and her lips lifted to a smirk. “You had something to say, babe?” “Huh? Oh, yeah. How do you do that?” “What’s that?” I ask as I walk to the refrigerator and pull out a bottle of water, opening it and quickly finishing half of it off in one gulp. “Kiss me stupid. I know I had a question, but you do that and I forget my own name.” “Piper Sullivan.” “Gosh, I love when you say that.” Piper walks up to me and steals the bottle of water from my hands, taking her own sip before handing it back to me. “Only seven days. Anyway, you were asking about hair products. I don’t know where any of that is, but if it’s a serum, my sister probably has it. Witchy powers and all that,” I tease. Piper smacks my arm, which causes me to fake a flinch and turn my back toward her as though I’m protecting myself. “Be nice; that’s my best friend you’re making fun of.” “Oh, come on. If I can’t make fun of my own sister, what’s the point of having her? Besides, you know she’s been a little on edge lately. More so than usual. Are you sure we should’ve asked her to sing at the wedding?”

My Review of Champagne & Forever

Champagne & Forever is a novella in the Country Road series.  This means it is shorter than one of the regular novels in the series.  To get the best experience reading Champagne & Forever, you really should read the rest of the series.  Besides the fact that the series is amazing, you can better appreciate each of the characters.

Champagne & Forever isn't really anyone's book.  It brings all of the characters in the Country Road series together in celebration of Ben and Piper's wedding.  The best part of this book is the way it was written.  Andrea Johnston puts us in each of the characters relationships in this book.  We get each characters POV and it is written so gracefully that it just flows as one big story.  There is a secret one of the characters are keeping, which takes us through where each of the couples are in their own relationships.  Plus, you still get the benefit of all of the friendships being brought together.

There is no way I could give Champagne & Forever anything less than 5 stars.  It was a fabulous read and perfectly written for where the author wanted to take us!
